Blue Moon Discos
The leading North East Disco Company
What we do
At Blue Moon we endeavour to make your event unique to you. Remember the golden rule “the one with the gold makes the rules”
What can I say, you plan for how long for your dream day. Everything has to be how you want it, and that’s where we agree. You can choose how large or small the set up is, choose between black, white or rustic look. Have access to your own playlist creator and share it with your guests if you want, retaining a veto on their choices.
Whatever your special event we always remember it’s special to you. You will never be just another Birthday, Anniversary, Engagement or whatever you want to celebrate.
We can offer those little extra touches to make your event even more special. Projection of names or messages or montages of photographs. Mood lighting to transform you room into a venue deserving of your party. Hire of our Selfie Wizard where guests take their own pictures on their own phones or choose from ones already on their device and upload to a rolling display with all images supplied to the host on a USB memory stick at the end of the event.
“Could not recommend these guys enough! We used Blue Moon Discos for our engagement party on Saturday night and I am so happy we went with him. The playlist was amazing – all night everyone was commenting on how good the music was. He played all of our requests (even the weird ones as the night went on!) and the dance floor was never empty! The lighting and set up was so professional and made the function room look lovely all night. He will definitely be my first choice of DJ for all future parties!”
Alex Jung – Engagement Party
I started to DJ around 1979, buying a 1/4 share in the Blue Moon Roadshow. Over the next 5 years 2 of the partners left leaving myself and one partner. in 1985 my partner decided that they would rather concentrate on nightclub work which left me as sole owner. Between 1985 and 2001 I not only DJ’d at party’s and regular club party nights using vinyl then Cd’s and mini-discs between Berwick and Teesside but travelled throughout the UK supplying conference equipment and specific music to cues during training events. Due to having to do a work placement for my degree course in 2002 I had to stop taking bookings and effectively retired.
Fast forward to 2010 and after helping my son start his DJing career the bug bit and I decided to to restart Blue Moon Disco. The unimaginable changes in equipment and music at first worried me but I stuck with it and mastered the software to play mp3’s and control the LED lighting effects. I invested heavily on high end sound and lighting equipment and thoroughly enjoy every time I go out to party.
